Welcome

0:00 0:00

Welcome to Vasco da Gama Tower, the tallest building in Portugal. It took a few years, but the moment has finally arrived and the viewpoint is returned to the city, now renovated and full of life. From up here, at 145 meters high, the view, from the south Bay to Lisbon, is impressive and unparalleled, but you must have already noticed that – is it possible not to notice? What you may not have noticed is that in each window of this viewpoint, you will find a small QR Code. It’s not to bother you, but to complement your ascent.

We don’t want you to rush, actually it’s quite the opposite, we want to invite you to stay and enjoy. Discover the landscape: the Vasco da Gama Bridge seen from above, the Parque das Nações at your feet, Alcochete on the other side, Lisbon in the background…

In each QR Code, you can learn a little more about what you see, but also about what you can still discover and enjoy. In Lisbon, but not only. There are tourist recommendations, historical contextualization notes, and information about the SANA offers – everything you need to make this experience endure.

And there’s more: a unique bar, BABYLON 360º, where you can try a signature cocktail while reading one of the suggestions (or simply relax and enjoy the view). The name is a reference to the sea voyage that took Vasco da Gama to India in 1498, but also to the panoramic 360-degree view. Each cocktail has been thoughtfully created to tell a story, always based on the discovery of the Sea Route to India, after all, it is this event that is also at the base of the tower’s construction, within the context of Expo 98. After a hiatus, the tower returned to its full glory in 2012 when the SANA group inaugurated the five-star hotel MYRIAD by SANA here. The panoramic elevators resumed operation later, in 2018. First, with FIFTY SECONDS by Martín Berasategui, the restaurant that brought the Spanish chef with the most Michelin stars to Portugal, and now also with VASCO DA GAMA TOWER BABYLON 360º, above the restaurant, where we are.

It’s a privilege to share this story with you, we hope you enjoy it and come back to repeat the experience whenever you want, as often as you’d like. After all, in the eastern part of Lisbon, the sunset will never be the same again – and neither will the nights. Have fun!
